We wanted to share a wonderful local opportunity for families with children aged 2 to 4 years. M Shed is running their Museum Explorers sessions designed especially for this age group, featuring play, crafts and stories with a different theme each month.
The upcoming sessions take place on Monday 17th November with a ‘Kids in the museum’ theme, and Monday 1st December exploring ‘Fairy tales’. These sessions run when M Shed is closed to the public, creating a calm and focused environment where children can explore and learn without the usual crowds.
Spaces are limited to ensure that every child can fully experience all of the activities on offer. Each child must be accompanied by one adult (maximum). If you are bringing a younger sibling aged 2 or under, you do not need to book a separate ticket for them. Whilst they will not be able to take part in the activities, a soft play mat, books and small toys will be available.
Families are welcome to stay for 30 minutes after the session to enjoy a picnic lunch together. Please note that as these sessions run on Mondays when the museum is closed to the public, the galleries, café and shop will not be accessible during your visit.
