Sharing books and stories helps to build children’s language and communication skills and develop a love of reading. It also gives your child the chance to hear and recognise new sounds and words, which are the first building blocks of language.
To support and encourage a love of reading and easy access to books (for both children and adults), we have collaborated with the Symington Road residents to have a free book box installed. Thank you to Laura for organising this and for the local Men in Sheds group for building and installing the box. Some of the children have been helping to fill it up.
Please feel free to take and swap books and tell your friends and family to join the fun. Check the box regularly as you never know what will be there. Happy reading!
