We have an urgent vacancy for a parent/carer governor, and our Chair of Governors, Jill Gettrup, would love to hear from you!
Parents and carers play a vital role in our governing body, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of our children. To stand for this role, you simply need to have a child on roll at either of our schools, whether they are staying on next year, have siblings preparing to join or are moving on to primary school.
The commitment is manageable – just six Monday evening meetings a year, up to three daytime visits to the schools across the year, and an online training programme you can work through at home at your own pace. Our governing body is friendly and welcoming, and you will not be expected to hit the ground running. Employers are also required to allow staff time off for governor duties, and many will pay for that time too, so it is worth checking your employment policies.
