We have used information from the analysis of our school pupil progress assessment data, local and national educational priorities to identify the following areas for enhanced support at nursery.

Our ambition is to positively engage all children in receipt of Early Years Pupil Premium in early education and have a successful start to their school journey.

  • Joint attention and listening skills
  • Language comprehension – enriching vocabulary
  • Phonological awareness – noticing, matching and manipulating sounds. Getting ready to read.

This enhanced support is facilitated by

  • Additional teacher hours to plan and implement C&L focused small groups

  • Engagement of specialist Early Years music teacher for additional group music sessions
  • Additional support to overcome barriers to engagement with family / carers story and music sessions and library sessions.
