It was a sad, but exciting day at nursery on Friday!
Unfortunately we had to have much of the willow tree chopped down as it was rotten and dangerous, but the children were able to watch the tree surgeons at work.
First they threw ropes and climbed up into the oak tree to remove any dead wood with chain saws. Then they scaled the willow and began to chop off the limbs. It was noisy but really exciting and interesting to watch. The bottom of willow has been left as a wildlife habitat and we now have lots of logs to use around the garden.
