There are some lovely opportunities happening locally that may be of interest to parents and carers connected to Little Hayes and Speedwell Nursery Schools. These sessions offer a chance to meet others, learn new skills, and take some time for yourself in a welcoming, community-focused setting.
At the Vassall Community Hub in Fishponds, there are a range of free and low-cost activities running throughout July and August. These include creative printmaking workshops designed especially for carers, where all materials are provided and no experience is needed. There is also a friendly Connection Café, offering a relaxed space to meet new people and build confidence, as well as regular digital skills drop-in sessions for anyone wanting help with phones, tablets or online services.
For families with younger children, the Oldbury Court Tea and Tots group provides a warm, sociable space where children aged 0–4 can play while parents and carers connect over a cup of tea. Sessions take place on Tuesday mornings at the Vassall Community Hub.
