Great news for families! Children and young people under 16 can now travel for free on buses across the West of England during the school holidays.
This brilliant initiative, announced by Mayor Helen Godwin, means around 150,000 children aged 5-15 in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire can hop on board any participating bus without needing a bus pass or registration.
The scheme makes it easy for families to explore local attractions, visit friends and family, or enjoy days out without worrying about transport costs. Major bus operators, including Bath Bus Company, First Bus, Stagecoach, and The Big Lemon, are all participating, so there’s plenty of choice for getting around.
The Travelwest website will soon feature a comprehensive list of free summer activities alongside journey-planning information to help you make the most of this opportunity.
