As a parent governor, I wanted the opportunity to make a difference, as high-quality early years education is vital to children’s development and future success. I am motivated by seeing that everyone’s main focus is on improving the children’s experience.
My own children attend the nursery, and as a parent governor, I personally wanted to provide input by giving my own insight and experience. Professionally, I am a civil servant and am familiar with how businesses work and the legality involved. I have experience in working collaboratively with people of all backgrounds and believe I can utilise my skills in my role as parent governor. Everyone is supportive and accommodating, training is provided and attending meetings is enlightening.
I have gained a better understanding of how nurseries manage and how each governor’s role works. The experience has made me want to do more for the local community and businesses involved.
