Sharing and Re-tell Stories
Linked to our activities around growing and changing, our core book this term is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We will be learning to tell the story in lots of different ways, using props and acting it out.
You can watch it here:

We’ve even got some real, live caterpillars to watch as they grow and change into cocoons and then butterflies.
Being Creative with Scissors and Glue in the Art Area
The art corner is a wonderful place for us to be really creative. We have been experimenting with glue, seeing what happens to it when it dries on the paper, and when we hold our glue sticks up high, it’s fun to watch it drop.
We have also been using scissors to create fun and interesting patterns to see what shapes we can make by cutting out bits of the paper.
Musical Instruments and the Different Sounds They Make
Musical instruments are some of our favourite things to play with, we love hearing all the different noises we can create on them.
What happens if we hit it harder or softer? What noise can we create if we hit the drum with something else?
Minibeasts in our Garden
Exploring our garden is something we do every day. We decided to take out some magnifying glasses and try to find all sorts of different garden bugs.
We have been searching in the sand tray, trees, and grass to see what could be hiding there.
What can you find in your garden?
Air Ambulance
The air ambulance landed in the park next door to us, and we were lucky enough to go and visit it!
We were surprised at how big it was and the pilot was kind enough to answer some of our questions about how it flies and where does it go.
